Religious Formation Staff

Phil Zimmerman

Director of Adult Formation
Phil's task is to equip the adults of Sacred Heart Parish to live the Catholic Faith, helping all adult parishioners become more capable of bringing their children, neighbors, friends, and co-workers to a deeper understanding of Catholicism.

Marilyn Kathol

Director of Youth Formation
Marilyn coordinates the Religious Formation program for those children of the parish who do not attend the Norfolk Catholic School system. The role of the Religious Formation program (K-12) is to assist the parents as the parents form their children in the Catholic Faith, leading them to a stronger relationship with Christ and a deeper understanding of His Church. This assistance is provided to parents through Wednesday night formation classes, homeschool assistance, Godparents, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children, and sacrament preparation for those children who did not receive the sacraments at the "usual" age or grade.

Marcia Kallhoff

Religious Formation Secretary
Marcia attends to the daily operations of the Religious Formation Office, completing tasks requested by the Director, Coordinator, catechists and Adult Formation stewards. She ensures that everything runs smoothly and keeps open the communication between the Religious Formation Office and parents, students, stewards and parishioners involved in all Religious Formation programs, as well as the Catholic schools.
