SACRED HEART PARISH LITURGY UPDATE
SAVE PAPER, SAVE MONEY
Many of you received the Liturgical Minister schedule via the internet as well as from the post office. If you did not receive the schedule via the internet, send us your e-mail address. Also, help us save money and the environment by contacting the parish office to let us know that you don’t need a paper copy of the schedule. Call 371-2621 or e-mail khenkel@shpo.org
LITURGICAL MINISTRY CHECKLIST
EMHC
Remember to sign in 15 minutes before Holy Mass. While you are in the sacristy, wash your hands.
LECTOR Lectio Divina
One week before you are scheduled to lector, begin reflecting on the readings. Read through them slowly, prayerfully. Ask God to speak to you through His holy word. Linger on whichever words tug at your heart.
SACRISTAN
Arrive early, stay late
First Mass of the day: arrive early, unlock doors
Last Mass of the day: stay late, put everything away
11:30 am Mass sacristan: put the remaining wine back in the bottle, so it doesn’t spoil.
ALTAR SERVER
Dress well to serve at Holy Mass. Point your hands to heaven.
We don’t want to see your:
Toes
Hair in your face
Jewelry on your wrists and hands
USHER
Ask a family, a couple, or a person to bring up the gifts. Ask them before Holy Mass begins. If they don’t know what to do, explain it to them and guide them along.
Always be ready to give an explanation
to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope.
I Peter 3:15
Lay Ministers will be needed for Wednesday, December 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, and for Christmas liturgies.
The next schedule will be worked on around November 3rd. Please contact Karl Henkel at the Parish Office if there are any changes you would like to make.
To all: We thank you for your help in these ministries at Sacred Heart Parish. Please keep in mind the scheduling process is somewhat difficult, as we coordinate 480 volunteers each month. If you have not been scheduled in the current month, it is not an oversight. You will be scheduled in the months to follow.
