Health Ministries
Health Ministry
For all parishioners who are in need of consultative help with their health concerns. Our office is located at 205 So. 6th St. Since we don’t keep regular office hours, please leave a message on our voice mail. We check the messages daily and will call you back as soon as possible. Please call if you would like us to help you or a loved one, or if you have a friend that needs help with a health problem. If you need help finding help, maybe we can assist you or refer you to someone who can help you. Maybe you would like us to go with you to the doctor’s office to help you understand what he is telling you. Maybe you have a medication problem we can help you with. Or maybe you may want us to visit a loved one for spiritual support and assist them with health problems or questions. Maybe you just want to talk something over. We are here to help you, just call to let us know.
"We look forward to assisting you with your healthcare needs and hope you will allow us to be there when you need someone."

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month from 10:30 to 11:30 am at 205 So. 6th St. to knit or crochet shawls which are then given to parishioners who are in need of prayers and support. The Prayer Shawl is a visible sign that we as a parish embrace them in our prayers and wrap them in our love. Prayer Shawls are knitted or crocheted while saying prayers of healing for the person it is intended for. It is a way of giving to our members a visible sign of our concern, our caring, and a sign of community support during their illness, etc. We give them to people to hold and enfold them in prayer while they are going through an illness, or are unable to attend weekly Mass because of chronic health problems, or celebrating a new birth, or are in need of our prayerful support while going through a difficult period in their life. If you have a friend who needs extra support of our prayers, please let us know as we would be happy to make them a shawl.

What We Do Not Do
- Interfere with Professional Agencies' duties, such as the Visiting Nurse Association - Do anything “invasive” (shots, IV therapy) - Be on call 24 hours per day - Administer medication; however, will reinforce discharge instructions - Do regular dressing changes, but will reinforce discharge instructions on proper technique - Make diagnoses
